When I ordered from Upton Tea, they threw a sample of Malabar Estate Java Op in my shipment.
From the website:
This selection was harvested at the peak of the summer flavory season. Dark, crepy leaves, combined with gold and silver downy tips produce a dark, clear liquor. The cup has interesting flavor notes and a hint of mahogany wood in the aroma. This is one of the best high-grown Java teas we have seen in years.
Java Op is available in a variety of sizes: 12g sample packet for $2.00, 100g packet for $11.20, and 200g packet for $21.28.
When I opened the packet this smelled like a good strong black tea, and the aroma stayed that way after brewing. The tea was delicious and seems like a good strong morning brew, or maybe an afternoon pick me up. This may be blasphemous, but I think it would make an excellent hot toddy as well – perfect for the upcoming fall and winter!
