April 3, 2014 LauraLeave a comment

I got a couple more photos back from the shoot. I think these two are my favorites, along with the green one I posted on Sunday. What do you think?

The Knitting: Jurisfiction by Glenna C., Madeline Tosh Vintage in the Firewood Colorway The Mug: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Bronze.  It doesn’t seem to be available any longer, but perhaps one of these would suffice?

Teacessories: Tea Bag/Spoon Plates

March 19, 2014 LauraLeave a comment

If you’re using tea bags, or a separate infuser, or even a tea spoon to stir your tea, you’re going to need a place to rest your favorite implement. One reader sent me the link to this adorable Beary Spoon Rest on Modcloth: I also found a variety of cute plates on my very favorite… Continue reading Teacessories: Tea Bag/Spoon Plates

Teashop: David’s Tea

March 7, 2014 LauraLeave a comment

I don’t remember who first told me about David’s Tea but I was excited to place and order with them. It wasn’t until after I had already ordered that I realized that they were located in Canada and it would take a little extra time to receive my box.  Even so I was pleasantly surprised… Continue reading Teashop: David’s Tea

Teacessories: Infusers

March 5, 2014 LauraLeave a comment

If you’re not interested in purchasing an infuser mug or using paper filters, there’s no reason you can’t brew tea at home in your own mugs. All you need is an infuser and those can be obtained at a variety of price points. The easiest, cheapest alternative is to purchase a tea ball. You can… Continue reading Teacessories: Infusers

Teacessories: Funny Punny Mugs

March 1, 2014 LauraLeave a comment

I really love nothing better than a well executed pun.  These mugs from Lenny Mud tickle my funny bone, and I’m sure I’d get a chuckle every time I sipped from them. These appear to be sold out, but I still dig ’em.

Teacessories: Tea Cozies

February 22, 2014 LauraLeave a comment

I don’t generally drink my tea in ceramic pots, but there are many people who do. As I said in my post about mug cozies, one of the ways to keep your tea warm longer is to add some extra insulation with wool! There are tons of tea cozy patterns out there for those of… Continue reading Teacessories: Tea Cozies

Teacessories: The Republic of Tea

February 12, 2014 Laura6 Comments

During my wait for my Teavana tumbler, I got impatient and decided to try something different. I had been encouraged by a friend to try The Republic of Tea so I wandered over to their site and browsed. The first thing I found was their Glass Tumbler with Infuser. It seemed competitive with the Teavana… Continue reading Teacessories: The Republic of Tea

Teacessories: Knitted Mug Cozies

February 1, 2014 LauraLeave a comment

I thought I’d stick with the Welcome to Nightvale theme for one more post and tie knitting into tea time today.  When I brew tea at work, I often want to drink the tea and to hold the warm mug in my hands. However, mugs cool quickly. How often have you drunk half a cup… Continue reading Teacessories: Knitted Mug Cozies

Getting started.

January 28, 2014 LauraLeave a comment

The first thing I needed when I decided to begin this journey was a good way to brew tea. Since I mostly drink my tea at work, I was looking for something that was convenient, easy to use and easy to clean up.  I was also looking for something that wouldn’t break the bank. One… Continue reading Getting started.

Welcome!

Hi! I’m Laura. As a California girl transplanted to the Midwest, I fully embraced spinning and knitting to keep warm. My love of fiber arts has lead me to become a knitting tech editor, host of a weekly video podcast and a knitwear designer. My goal is to produce beautiful fiber projects and help other designers produce well-crafted patterns — free from errors!
