Just before Christmas I decided to splurge and get myself a cheerful little ceramic teapot. I ventured out to our local tea store and picked up a Curve Teapot in a bright red.
Of course, a beautiful new teapot needed a cozy.
I started thinking I wanted to make the Ribbed & Ruffled Tea Cozy by Churchmouse Yarn & Teas.

Then a friend showed me the Tea Mitten pattern by Elisabeth Kleven.

I just loved that little gusset for the spout. So I did what I have a habit of doing – I made my own pattern that was a mish-mash of the two I liked. I used a little over half a skein of Noro Silk Garden and a few buttons from stash.
I think I’m smitten!
